Teenpact: Day Two

Here is day 2 of Teenpact. This is rather dusty news, I know, but we thought we would follow through with posting pictures. For more pictures and a neat blog, visit our good friend Rebecca's. She posted much quicker than we did :).

We fed the kids breakfast and then headed out to Austin to help some dear friends of ours. They are soon moving to Manhattan and so we helped them with some housework.

Teen Pact, the weary/fun time

Every year for the past three or four years us and some friends of ours go to this camp called

TeenPact , a Christian camp in Buda, TX (outside of Austin) where you go to the capital and learn about the government, write your own mock bills, etc. Well, we cook for the kids when they get back to the camp for dinner and early morning breakfast. We can always count on having a fun time.

So with that being said, I will show you a little peek of our time there:

Day 1:

Sunday, the day before we left; our Grandpa and Grandma came down from California to visit all the Texas family down here.

On our way to Austin, we stopped to take a break and so Lizzie and I had to stretch our legs. :)

After we picked up Rebbecca we were on our way to Buda, to the camp. I don't know if you can tell but we were packed to the BRIM, with food, clothes, bags, stuff, and people. :)

Immediately once we got to the camp we unloaded the food and set to work peeling 40lb. of potatoes, and mixing a ton of meat for meatloaf.

After dinner we had to prepare the eggs for the next mornings breakfast, I believe we cracked and blended 120 eggs! Even though it tasted good after it was cooked, it did not look very appetizing in big pitchers all blended up.

Goin' camping again

Every year we go on an annual camping trip with my dad's side of the family, the Marqueses (Uncle Randy, Uncle Jimmy, Grandpa). The Webb's were able to join us for last year but not this year due to an extension of the family, Dominic, not being old enough.
Because of every one's various locations, we always try to meet somewhere halfway for everyone. Though everyone except Uncle Randy seem to end up traveling the farthest... but that's another story. We like going to places with lakes because my Uncle Randy has wave-runners.

Last year we went to Lake Tawakoni (where all the pictures were taken). If you're from east Texas then you most likely know how to pronounce "Tawakoni". For everyone else, here's a hint: it isn't phonetic.

This year we're going to Lake Texoma and surprise, surprise, we're actually going to stay in cabins! We have always stayed in good old-fashioned tents but the vote was against them this year. Besides, it tends to get pretty hot in Texas during the summer.

We'll be gone Thursday--Sunday. We'll try to blog during the trip but if not, expect pictures and a long post next week.
