Two Thousand Ten {in pictures}

This year has been bursting with growth, blessings, trials, joys, and lots of ways to see His faithfulness and tender mercies.

Here are some glimpses into what we have been up to in the year 2010.

As you have read, we have the blessed opportunity to have the Hood family live with us.

Nate is one of the reasons we smile during the day--he's a cute, silly monkey.

Thanks to some dear friends being out of town for the holiday's, Mica was able to experiment with a dehydrator, we're still enjoying the delish coconut macaroons.

This was one of my favorite parts of our visit to Virginia.

Naturally we had to take a picture with the shoe :)

This time with my sweet friend Maria is something I treasure.

We also went camping this year--with the Webbs!

Although, I'm afraid it will take some more time for Dom to get accustomed to getting dirty.

I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a few weeks with the

Apodaca's after the birth of Rebecca.

Group pictures can be a challenge but here is our best attempt!

Our cousin Emily spent her Spring holiday with us and helped us model all of the cute scarves Dad got us from his trip to the UK (We were thankful that he was able to take quite a few trips that year, so many fun pictures and memories that we were vicariously able to make through him :)

Dom also got the chicken pox that year :(

But you can't really tell.

We also spent sweet time with the Neals!

Their friendship is treasured and we love when they make their annual visit from Dubai.

As I am thinking about this past year, Isaiah 58 is a strong representation of the hopes I have for the coming year. Naturally it's difficult to sum up all of the little things that God has shown you over the year but that passage is a good representation of what I've learned and what I strive for this year. Isaiah 58 has been both encouraging and convicting for me, I'm sure there will be future posts about it but in any case I hope that you will read it and that the Lord would use it to humble you and show you His great mercy.

Long, Long, Time... No Writing...

You may have noticed that I have not posted in 51 posts!

Three reasons: 1. there has not been a computer available, 2. a particular Pickwick team member occupies the computer most of the time, 3. I have not had anything worth telling. Well I guess only 2 reasons. But anyhow I have been recently been working on my clay and after some making, baking, and cooling I would like to present to you some pictures of the finishing project...

Eggs anyone?

Ok, our first plate is a sandwich, chips and sour cream. our second plate is a sandwich, french fries and ketchup. We now come to our breakfast plate that has over easy egg and toast with jam.

We also have are lovely one-of-kind "Blue Plate special". A tea set, tea cup (with cream on top), a pretty vase, and yet another tea cup with painted flowers, and last, but not least, peanut butter and jelly sandwich with green apples.

Pick a tea, any tea. Pick a color, almost any color. Pick a tea cup, any tea cup.

Would you like a salad and a sandwich? Or maybe you would like a hard boiled egg and tea? I know you want a slice of pie.

Time for dessert! We have some lovely cakes. We have lemon cake, chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, little-bit-of-chocolate-cake, and (lastly) cherry pie.

One last thought, I'd just like to throw in that I am selling these pieces and yes, these are all one-of-a-kind pieces :).

Hello! This is Caro. I am sure most people who are reading this already know my name and age etc. (well maybe not all of you) but for the one or two people who might glance at this, I am 12 years old and if you did not read my profile I like to make clay figures and I like to draw and read, we just finished reading "George Muller" mommy the girls and I, oh we bought Cranford and North and South today! hmm.....what else? well I suppose I'll tell you what I have been doing, well daddy has been teaching me some excel for a project I am working on ( military secrets and such) oh and I have been doing some clay not really that much I'm working on a certain family that I know, I guess I shall give you a proper introduction of Benny and Maggie they are from the same litter and they are 3 month old kitty's that are the cutest things Benny's real name is Abednigo but we nicknamed him Benny and he has the colors of a simees cat but is to fat to be one and he is a scaredy cat and has pretty blue eyes, and then there is Maggie real name Magdalene and she is a very pretty Tabby and is a scavenger also very........... mischievous and both of them have also given me quite a few painful cuts and enjoy waking me and the girls up at 3 o'clock in the morning. but we still love them, we took them to the vet a few days ago and my goodness why does everybody like Chihuahua's and those type's of dog?!?! Well half the room was filled with them oh and there was a HUGE dog there a massive great Dane no joke that dog standing up is probably the same height as Elena. and then when it was this dogs turn to go in it tried to hide behind a bench. You know its interesting how dog owners resemble their dog. anyways we finally get into the room and Benny weighs 5 pounds! and Maggie weighs like 3 pounds. Now that I have finished my introduction which was really all about Benny and Maggie and now I'll stop here for now I apologize if I have bored you I shall talk about something differrent (something besides cats) next time. :):)
