Welcome Nathan Isaac Burdell

My Aunt Gaby had her baby yesterday. His name is Nathan Isaac. He came into this world at a hefty 8 lbs. 6 oz. and 21 inches long. He has a head full of hair and is always hungry. He is beautiful. Congrats to the Burdells!!!!

Okay guys, that's about as many rounds of tag that Mica is playing; I'm putting her on probation for the next five posts.

CQE class

Right now I'm at a CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) class at the University of Houston with my dad. Dad's trying to become a CQE while I'm just here to keep him company and learn a few things. I've always been interested in engineering type of things so this class has got me hooked. I love how everything has structure and unity.

I mostly understood what the professor was talking about last time however, this time he has definitely lost me. Good thing it's dad who will be taking the test rather than me.Can you guess how many questions are on the test? Only 1000. The longest test I ever took was about 50 questions so 1000 seems like a bit much to me. Oh, now the professor is talking about Ratio and Interval Level Data. It seems pretty simple. I would tell you everything else he's talking about but I don't understand it completely yet.

I got tagged again by Jasmine at Joyfully Home!

For this tag, I have to state six things that I've learned this year and then tag six people. I think I'm really going to like this one since it probably won't make me very hungry afterward, like the fall tag. Here we go!

• I learned that every girl in church is crazy over Jasmine's 21-month old brother, Asher (who isn't? He's the greatest!)
• I learned that 150 extra visitors at church, after the FIC conference, is a lot of people
• I learned that Algebra 2 and Geometry aren't as hard as you think
• I learned a lot about Genesis 1-11 and 1 John; thank you, pastors Voddie and Paul!
• I learned that taking Mia's (my niece) thumb away from her and putting a band aid on it is a bad idea; she's an avid thumb-sucker.
• I also learned that hurricanes are really cool to watch except when your electricity is out

Trust me, I learned much more practical things this year but I only had six points to expound on. Lets see, who should I tag?

Fall tag

1.) Favorite Smell... Pumpkin pie baking in the oven or gingerbread cookies

17.) Favorite Fall Memory... One year, we had some friends over for dinner and we all played a game called Guestures. We were all so full of food and laughed more than we played the game.

At last...

Well we have now finished the post-cleaning of my Daddy's suprise party.

Every year seems to have different events that make it impossible for us to truly celebrate his birthday; but this year we were determined to be different. At first it was only going to be a small gathering of his closest friends, but it quickly grew to roughly seventy-five people! We managed to make enough food, salsa, and bought the cakes. My Mom is amazing.

You'll have to wait for Mica's post for the actual party pictures, I just take it of the food :)

He was completely suprised and very happy with everything! Mission accomplished :)

Now I am going to bed...

Stories told by Sophia

Chris, Nicole's husband, graciously let us have Nicole and the girls over for six whole days! Thank you, Chris! We enjoyed out time together immensely especially Nicole, who was treated to an amateur hair chopping,--I mean-- haircut by Elena. It's always sad to see them go but we had the Naquin girls over so we recovered.

Sophia was in a story-telling mood on Friday so she told me several stories. I had to shorten it ever so slightly otherwise you'd be here for a while.
